EXPLORE ATASCADERO
The Haunt in Atascadero is a constantly-changing, fully-immersive, interactive theater experience based around Halloween themes. This scare experience is different from traditional haunted houses due to the intimate, personal, horrifying experiences.
In a traditional haunted house, a conga-line of people move through the house together. In The Haunt experience, only small groups are allowed through the doors at a time. You don’t know what’s in front or behind you, developed with highly realistic situations.
The Haunt in Atascadero is the longest running and most popular haunted house in San Luis Obispo County. The Haunt originated as a young man’s garage dream and grew into its current location in Atascadero. The doors have been open since 2014, serving over four thousand people annually and increasing.
The Haunt in Atascadero is ready to send chills and thrills to all who dare venture into its abandoned toy factory this Halloween season. With 17 rooms of terror, The Haunt will satisfy even the most jaded haunter. The volunteer crew of over 90 actors, makeup artists, and technicians have worked throughout the year to bring the haunted toys to downtown Atascadero this year.
“This is not thrown together at the last minute,” says co-originator Chris Towers. “We want to make sure that when you come, you will have an experience to remember.” Guests proceed through at their own pace and are immersed in an interactive story of how these once endearing Fairy Tales, Nursery Rhymes, and Legends became twisted beyond identification. Warning: May cause you to pee your pants.
